Renter Friendly Entry Way Makeover

We moved into our new place last July and I’m finally getting around to making some updates. First things first our entry way! I chose the entry way because not only is it one of the smaller spaces to try my hand at a proper makeover but I was also able to make it budget and renter friendly!

Before jumping in head first I searched Pinterest to get some inspiration as our entry way has an interesting layout. While initially gravitating towards these classic vintage country house vibes I ultimately went another direction as I am not able to paint and I had to find an easier way to bring a brighter feel to the space.

As pictured, the entry way is fairly dark as it is a stairwell entry way with a ledge. I had to remain mindful to leave the ledge fairly empty as our kitty Dumbledore likes to sit there on occasion and look out the window.

After lots of consideration I decided to go with a white peel and stick tile as they’re affordable and renter friendly! I was stuck between a few different designs but ultimately went with these black and white starbursts from Amazon for $12.20 per box. After measuring the space I ordered 2 boxes and it was the perfect amount.

Finally after installing the tile myself I purchased a jute rug from World Market to add in an organic feel for $24.99 and decorated the rest with thrifted, gifted and older décor pieces I already had making my total makeover cost a total $51.92! It’s crazy how such simple changes can make a small space like this entry way feel so much brighter and more welcoming. I’ve linked all items used and similar items below if you’re interested in updating your space too!
