I love a great holiday candle, especially Balsam Fir! It reminds me of a Christmas tree!
I like to burn holiday scented candles all year long and always stock pile up! Yet that can get expensive so here is a cheap and easy way to fill your home with my second favorite holiday scent, pumpkin pie!
Now it's not as powerful a smell as baking a real pumpkin pie, and honestly nothing beats that! But hereare two welcoming DIY home scent recipes to try!
PUMPKIN PIE SCENT
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Put water in a kettle and let it come to a boil.
- Place all the ingredients in a pot on the stove and add the boiling water to the pot and stir.
- Turn the oven on to a low heat and just let the spices and water simmer, stirring occasionally and if needed add more water through the day.
APPLE PIE SCENT
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tablespoon all spice
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Put water in a kettle and let it come to a boil.
- Place all the ingredients in a pot on the stove and add the boiling water to the pot and stir.

These recipes are very similar but the cinnamon sticks with the cloves give a very strong apple cinnamon smell but both recipes amazing!
