Oregon Coast Birthday Getaway

This year I turned 29... oh man 30 is so close! Nooo!!

I knew I wanted to spend my birthday on the Oregon coast with my love this year since we weren't able to make it last year. We love spending special moments like birthdays out creating memories together rather than on overly priced gifts.

We started the birthday trip by driving along Highway 101, we wanted to make this a fun coastal trip the whole way through.

We stopped in Astoria for the evening and stayed at the gorgeous Elliott Hotel. In Astoria we walked along the boardwalk, checked out small local shops in one of which I bought myself a new book, and enjoyed an amazing meal and drinks at T. Paul's Supper Club that caters in Northwest cuisine and had a local musician playing.

After some well needed sleep we had a small breakfast and were back on the road heading to Cannon Beach which is about 45 minutes away. We did not realize how busy Cannon Beach was going to be! We spent about an hour looking for parking and settled on going to the Ecola State Park first to enjoy the view of the beach and go on a mini hike.

We spent our afternoon there, it was a beautiful day perfect for relaxing in the sun and cool ocean breeze.

We even did a mini photoshoot!

Around 3:30pm we decided we would search for parking again near the water because I dearly wanted to walk barefoot on the beach but alas there was no parking still so we gave up and decided to head into Portland for dinner. We had specialty drinks before dinner at the Matador and decided we would then indulge and try Screen Door, per recommendation by Maddie Greer, which is classic Southern cooking and Oh My Goodness!! I think I died a little with each bite, it was amazing! I HIGHLY recommend going there if you're in the Portland area!

Finally we headed to Vancouver to stay with my sister and her boyfriend for the evening and for my actual birthday. That morning was spent relaxing with some coffee and a book I have been reading, we ventured into town and had brunch at Bleu Door a Parisian cafe. Finally we ended the day watching the first preseason game for the Seahawks!

Overall it was a very nice and relaxing birthday weekend spent with amazing people that I love!
