Happy Thanksgiving my fellow hippies!
November has run away from me and it’s seriously frustrating, I feel like I barely got to enjoy it at all! Luckily today of all days, Thanksgiving, is a time to slow down, reflect, and remember to be grateful for the little things while spending special time with family and friends for dinner. If you follow me on Instagram I’ve been sharing a few reasons why I’m thankful in my life but here are a few more!
Dumbledore
Even though my cat drives me nuts and is a brat 99% of the time he is my fur baby, my one fur love. He has taught me patience and unconditional love. Over the last 5 years he has been a true friend and an incredible source of comfort especially through dark times. He is my baby boy, my kitty loaf, my Dumbley and he means the absolute world to me. I’m humbled every day that I can provide him with a forever home, to be his mom. I will always be drawn in my his cuteness and grumpy stares while bothering him with incessant pets and snuggles.
Friends
I am grateful for the amazing people in my life that I get to call my friends. They’ve all lent a shoulder or an ear in hard times, helped me grow, made me laugh until I cried, been pillars of strength and understanding. They’ve helped shape me into the strong person I am today. Without each of them my life would be very boring and incomplete. I’m eternally thankful for each and every one of these incredible and uniquely special people.
Family
I’m thankful for my family; those near and far and those I’ve gotten the great joy to reconnect with recently. Like all families we have issues but at the end of the day our love is a strong foundation that never falters. I’m lucky to be blessed with loyal, fiercely loving, and passionate people. Their love is a resilient guiding light through life.
Nature
I’m grateful in a multitude of ways for being human, that I get to see, hear, and understand all the beautiful scenes this Earth has to offer. Living in Washington I feel like I’m constantly spoiled by the beauty of nature, and yet there is beauty in everything. I am thankful that I’m aware and invested in wanting to save our planet, it is a passion I feel deeply committed to and constantly am taking steps towards being more involved.
Health
I am incredibly thankful for my health; physically, mentally and emotionally. Although I am no where near my goals I am thankful that I can work towards them daily, that I’m mindful of what I put in my body and how I treat it. That I can work out and move easily. Often times we don’t think about how amazing our bodies are and what we can accomplish with them, or even that we’re whole and alive. Many people wish or pray that they can achieve even the smallest things so I remember to never take anything for granted.
Job
I am grateful that I have a job, without my job I wouldn’t have a roof over my head and food on my plate. I wouldn’t have the opportunity to go do fun things. Even though it is not the career path I see for myself I’m thankful to learn and grow daily within my position.
Brandon
There are not enough works I can say to describe how truly amazing he is, I am thankful for this incredible human every day. He is my best friend first, my love, and my personal cheerleader. He has a pure heart of gold and is deeply kind to everyone and everything. When we first started dating I was still in a dark place emotionally, I wasn’t sure how to get out and it was a heavy burden to carry. With his support these last almost 3 years he has willing helped carry my burden, he has brought me from the darkness and it’s through his constant love and support that I continue to flourish. He encourages me to be my best self, to follow my dreams and heart no matter how crazy while staying beside me the entire way. Every day we continue to get to know each other and that is a priceless gift, all I can say is thank you every day. I love you and I like you.
You!
Thank YOU for believing in me, for following along with me these last 2 years! It is a great passion and a beautiful thing to share my life with you and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon! Creating my blog was a way to share not only what I love but to understand myself more and through this journey I’ve been able to do just that!
