LONDON
London was a dream I want to keep reliving! Just like Paris, London has always been a city I have yearned to visit my entire life. On our arrival we found London, although currently dealing with Brexit which we did see first hand, a lively and exciting city that is culturally diverse. An equal mixture of classic meets modern everywhere you look especially along the River Thames.
Our schedule was packed from the beginning and there was not a moment where we slowed down until our heads hit the pillow. We both cannot wait to go back in 2024 when Big Ben is fully restored and experience more of Great Britain and the UK.
MY SITE GUIDE TO LONDON
Westminster Abbey: A MUST! Make sure to book tickets early and keep in mind photography and video are permitted inside the abbey.
St James’s and Hyde Park: If you would like to enjoy nature while staying close to central London check out these or one of the other 3,000 parks London has to offer.
Buckingham and Kensington Palaces: Beautiful classic architecture to take in, plus if you are like me you’ll be excited to just be close!
Notting Hill: Although we opted out of visiting Notting Hill proper after walking about 10 miles that day we did not miss spotting some beautiful pastel colored homes that Notting Hill is known for.
Abbey Road: Abbey Road is a bit of a spectacle in all honesty, there are loads of tour buses that come through with everyone hoping to be part of the iconic Beatles experience. I highly suggest going very early in the morning about 7am or if you’re like us and don’t mind it not being spot on there’s a road literally diagonally across with no one else, looks similar, and is on the same road. Win win in my book!
Museum and Attractions: Spend an afternoon in one of London’s many free entry museums! Although if you’re looking for a museum off the path I highly recommend checking out the Sherlock Holmes museum! If you’re a huge history buff like me you’ll highly enjoy Tower of London and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Extras: Looking to shop in London? Shop around Piccadilly Circus; there is a mixture of high end goods and standard clothing stores. Don’t forget to purchase yourself an Oyster card if you’re looking to use public transportation which is amazing in London! You can get around easily and efficiently.
Are you a Harry Potter fan too?! Keep an eye out for my Guide to Harry Potter in the UK!
